TSO OTENTIK Becomes the First Accredited VDS Scheme Operator
TSO OTENTIK is proud to announce its official accreditation as the first Scheme Operator by VDSIC (Visible Digital Seal International Council). This milestone represents a significant step forward in establishing a trustworthy, interoperable ecosystem for digital seal verification worldwide.
What This Means
As a Scheme Operator, TSO OTENTIK is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the VDS trust environment. This includes:
- Onboarding trusted service providers — Certificate Authorities, seal issuers, and solution providers undergo rigorous evaluation before joining the network.
- Maintaining trust lists — Publishing and updating the directories of authorized entities that verifiers rely on to validate seals.
- Ensuring compliance — Monitoring all participants’ adherence to ISO 22376, ISO 22385, and other applicable standards.
- Managing Manifest definitions — Overseeing the registry of use-case specifications that define how VDS seals are structured for different applications.
A Foundation for Global Trust
The Visible Digital Seal technology enables governments, organizations, and businesses to embed cryptographically secure, verifiable data directly into physical and digital documents. Unlike traditional QR codes, VDS seals carry signed data that can be independently verified — even offline — using standardized trust infrastructure.
TSO OTENTIK’s role as Scheme Operator ensures that this infrastructure remains reliable, secure, and interoperable across borders and implementations.
Looking Ahead
With this accreditation, TSO OTENTIK is now actively onboarding Certificate Authorities, VDS issuers, and solution providers. Organizations interested in joining the trust network are encouraged to contact us to learn about the onboarding process.
